  • Arax was foaled a Klemensow, a temporary stud farm set up in Poland after World War II

  • He stood at Michalow State Stud in Poland in 1957

  • Arax's race record 18(5-5-2) attracted the attention of Russian government officials.  He was soon exported from Poland to Russia in 1958  (RASB# 1018) 

  • Arax stood at Tersk Stud from 1958 through 1969 where he sired 100 foals

  • Arax and three of his daughters were purchased by Dr. Pieter Houtappel of Rodania Stud and exported to Holland in 1969

  • Arax died in Amsterdam, Holland on the docks just after the ship's landing.  He died at the age of 17 years due to injuries from a freak accident on board the ship.

  • His sons and daughters excelled in the show ring, racing, and breeding.  He placed the "Arax Stamp" of type, correct conformation, and athletic ability on his descendants.   Some of Arax outstanding foals include:  *Rokitka (exported to the U.S.); *Boltonka (exported to the U.S.  and 1964 U.S. National Reserve Champion Mare); Zlota Iwa (significant broodmare at Michalow Stud); Nagrada; Karta; and Tamerlan.
